What does CAPSI do for you?

CAPSI provides a strong voice for pharmacy students in issues that concern both students and the profession as a whole. In addition, CAPSI:

Each of the 10 Canadian pharmacy schools have their own local CAPSI council which organize local events for their members such as:

  • Symposia
  • Educational Seminars
  • CAPSI Competitions
  • Various Social Activities
  • Pharmacist Awareness Month events
  • Textbook Sales
  • Fundraising Events
  • Mock OSCEs

Become involved in your local CAPSI council – ask your school’s Junior or Senior CAPSI Representatives for more details!

  • Professional Development Week (PDW). Attend our 4-day national student conference, hosted by a different Faculty of Pharmacy each year.
  • Attend our Annual General Meeting and have your voice heard (Annual General Meeting runs concurrent with PDW).
  • Express your thoughts and concerns to over 3,000 student colleagues through letter and article submissions to the CAPSIL.
  • Be a member of the National Executive Council (Talk to your local CAPSI Representatives, or a member of the current Executive Council, for election details).
  • Become involved with student exchange programs and Pan American Regional Office through the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF)
  • Attend the Pan American Regional Symposium and World Congress through IPSF

Membership Options

CAPSI encourages non-student membership within the organization. Our members of today are the pharmacists of tomorrow. Therefore we encourage involvement of those already active in various aspects of the profession. We also encourage the active involvement of our student counterparts from other countries through the associate student membership.

General Student Member

Defined as a full-time undergraduate PharmD student of a faculty of pharmacy at any Canadian University or a registered pharmacy intern in Canada who has effectively provided appropriate compensation for any prescribed fees to the Association

Associate Student Member

Associate Student Member

Any undergraduate student of a foreign school of pharmacy or registered pharmacy intern in a foreign country.

Pharmacist Member

Pharmacist Member

Any individual registered as a pharmacist with their provincial licensing body.

Supporting Member

Supporting Member

Any individual having an interest in the association’s activities and initiatives, but does not qualify for the general student, associate student, or pharmacist membership.
