About Us

As your CAPSI representatives in Alberta, we help organize events such as the patient interview, over-the-counter and compounding competitions. These competitions allow students to practice and apply the skills and knowledge they have acquired in the classroom. The Student Literacy Challenge (SLC) is another CAPSI Competition that is open in September to all pharmacy students (including you!) and ends in mid-October. We also help organize Pharmacist Awareness Month in March where we run health clinics and organize several symposia during the year where guest speakers talk about trending topics in pharmacy. If you are interested and would like more information on these competitions or PAM, feel free to send us an email!

Local Events for the Year

1

CIBC Run for the Cure

Our first big event of the year is CIBC Run for the Cure! Each year we raise awareness and funds to help fund life-saving research and treatments. This is just one example of ways we try to improve the health of our patients outside of our traditional pharmacy practice.

2

Competitions

Throughout the year we organize events such as the patient interview, over-the-counter and compounding competitions. These competitions allow students to practice and apply the skills and knowledge they have acquired in the classroom.
3

CAPSI Educational Events

Every year in September we hold a CAPSI lunch and learn and many other fun CAPSI educational events. This helps students learn about the many benefits CAPSI provides on a local and national level.

4

Pharmacist Awareness Month

In March we help organize Pharmacist Awareness Month where we run health clinics and organize several symposia during the year where guest speakers talk about trending topics in pharmacy. These give students an inside look at current issues, different therapeutic topics, or information about local and national organizations.
