CAPSI UBC represents the interests of pharmacy students at the University of British Columbia. We provide opportunities for professional development through various competitions, symposia, and leadership opportunities.
Local Events for the Year
Careers Avenue is a joint event held by CAPSI and the faculty. Many pharmacy representatives are invited to speak to students about their future careers. The event is free for students, and has plenty of refreshments and amazing door prizes.
The CAPSI symposia series invites different guest speakers to present about topics that students may not have the chance to learn about in their curriculum. Past topics includes “innovations in rural communities”, “how to best market yourself in pharmacy” and “young leaders in pharmacy”.
Pharmacist Awareness Month
Throughout the month of March, students from the faculty will be advocating for their profession and the expanding roles of pharmacists, both in the community and in the hospital settings. Our events include Pharmacy Information Evening (PIE), a talent showcase performed by students, and many more.
UBCs Next Top Pharmacist
Previously known as Mr. Pharmacist, UBC’s Next Top Pharmacist is a pageant held among students. Students compete through a catwalk, talent show, trivia and more. The winner of the competition represents UBC to compete against many other from all over Canada at the national level during PDW.
CAPSI sells the required textbooks (CTC, CTMA) to students of all years in the month of September. The textbooks are at a discount price compared to UBC Bookstore and other online sources.
Gala Rose Sale
CAPSI helps make gala night a little more special by selling roses and personalized cards to be delivered during our annual faculty gala. Send these cards and roses to your friends and/or loved one to show appreciation and adoration.
