Université Dalhousie

Dalhousie University has a Student Health and Wellness Centre, which contains access to social work services, a psychiatrist, counsellors and registered psychologists. In order to make an appointment with a counsellor for mental health purposes, the student must attend a walk-in counselling session first, which occurs at particular times of the weekdays and wait times vary. The centre also holds various events such as, managing anxiety workshops, eating-disorder support and self-care skills. Contact information for this centre is as followed:

The Dalhousie College of Pharmacy has a Director of Student Affairs who is someone the students can go to with regards to experiencing problems with their mental health and their inability to focus or perform optimally in their academics. This faculty member can direct students to finding counselling services and contact their professors to accommodate these students, amongst other methods of support.

Université Memorial de Terre-Neuve

At Memorial there is a Student Health Wellness and Counselling Centre for both physical and mental health. Services included for mental health are counselling, as well as less hands-on services that can be set-up for students, such as online therapy services.

Services available:

  • Professional Counsellors, with a variety of training backgrounds (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Educational Psychology and Social Work) are available to provide support and problem-solving assistance for emotional difficulties (e.g., anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, etc.), interpersonal problems (e.g., couple counselling, counselling to help graduate students work more effectively with their advisor), stressful life situations and career indecision.
  • Groups and Workshops. Groups and workshops are a great way to work through and take action on questions or challenges you have. We have many different groups and workshops available including groups for anxiety, depression, coping and relationships.
  • Career Inventories. The SCC offers the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) to help you with your career decision-making and planning. Students interested in either of these inventories should first consult Career Services staff for their career planning needs.

A l’UdeM, il y a le CSCP (Centre de santé et de consultation psychologique). Son but est de maintenir et d’assurer la santé physique et psychologique de tout le personnel et des étudiants de l’UdeM. Des professionnels du départements de psychologie, de nutrition, de physiothérapie, de soins infirmiers et de médecine peuvent être consultés. Le secrétariat du CSCP est situé au 2101, boulevard Edouard-Montpetit, sur le campus de l’UdeM, et peut être joint au numéro suivant: 1-514 343-6452.

Le président du conseil local de l’UdeM travaille sur la création d’un nouveau poste et d’un nouveau comité au sein du conseil local dont le rôle serait de promouvoir la santé mentale et d’offrir des services de santé mentale à tous les étudiants en pharmacie de l’UdeM. At U of S there is no specific mental health resources available executed by the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition.

The Student Wellness Centre offers urgent and non-urgent physical and mental health care to U of S students and their spouses and children.

The USSU (University of Saskatchewan Student Union) Health plan offers 80% coverage (up to $750 per year) for off campus psychologist visits.


A Mental Health Support Group meets every Wednesday at 7pm in the USSU Help Centre, (located in room 105, Memorial Building).
The group gives students the opportunity to meet and get to know other students who are dealing with mental health. You will meet, discuss and get to know others who have been dealing with mental health. The group offers a safe space and provides resources that can benefit your mental health.

Université de Waterloo

Waterloo school of pharmacy has a school counsellor Dave McKay who comes to the school of pharmacy every other Wednesday for appointments with pharmacy students. Students can call 519-888-4567 ext. 32655 on weekdays 8:30am-4:30pm to book an appointment.

There is also a club at the school of pharmacy RxPRN (Pharmacy Peer Relief Network). You can email to be connected with a peer mentor, or you can submit an anonymous question that will be posted and answered on their website at

Students can also access services at the University of Waterloo main campus. These services include individual appointments, seminars and workshops, group therapy, etc. Students can feel free to drop by their office in Needles Hall addition, 2nd Floor or phone 519-888-4567 ext. 32655 to learn more about their services and register for them.
